D-EDGE partners with Worldline

Published on September 09 2019

D-EDGE, Europe’s leading technology provider for hotel distribution, now cooperates with Worldline to provide hoteliers with a full omnichannel solution regarding e-commerce payment services. D-EDGE’s hotel customers and their guests around the globe benefit from a secure and seamless booking payment solution. To name a few benefits, this partnership allows multicurrency payment and excludes any risk of double or fraudulent booking. On top of that, hotels can optimize their payment fee when direct settlement is reached.

How it works? When a hotel guest books a room online, D-EDGE’s Smart Channel Manager registers all transaction data. Since September 1st, D-EDGE securely transfers those payment details to Worldline, which processes the credit card transaction. This solution allows hotels as well to benefit from an end-to-end solution including payment terminals, facilitating hotels’ operations with a single point of contact for their complete payments processing.

Léa Vernet, Global Manager, Partnership & Business Development at D-EDGE:

” We are proud to announce a long-term partnership with Worldline, a leading e-commerce player. Our goal is to provide our hotel clients with top-notch payment solutions for their global distribution. This partnership extends hotels’ reach worldwide thanks to local currency and payment mode management: guests can now pay the way they want in their own currency. ”
Vernet adds: “ This also provides one single point of reporting, one of D-EDGE’s key differentiators in terms of hotel technology tools. We are constantly innovating to ease hoteliers’ day-to-day life and help them focus on high-quality service. Indirect and direct distribution, payment solutions, revenue management and analytics are all controlled and managed from one single entry point. ”

Vincent Roland, Managing Director of Worldline’s Merchant Services:

“ Our partnership with D-EDGE serves both the hospitality industry and hotel guests by directly debiting the sum paid online for a room. Hotels now receive their payment at the time of the booking; avoiding any risk of double or fraudulent booking while reducing the transaction cost. In the long run, our objective is to implement our credit card terminals in the lobbies of the D-EDGE’s hotel clients. ”
Roland continues: “ The omnichannel solution covering e-commerce and terminal needs of D-EDGE marks a milestone that I am pleased to notice. By merging our expertise for online hospitality in POS environment, we have managed to set up an end-to-end solution to truly improve the end-to-end booking experience for the hotel and their guests as well. ”

A total of 11.500 hotels are connected to D-EDGE’s Channel Manager and Smart Booking Engine: all can now benefit from this agreement. Worldline delivers an end-to-end solution in e-commerce, helping hotels to receives payments directly. This solution relies on Worldline’s Online Payment Acceptance Solution, covering gateway and commercial acquiring services for a period of 3 years.
