Growing International Corporate Business
Without Expanding Commercial Investment

For more than a century, Hotel Majestic Saigon has welcomed travellers from around the world to one of Ho Chi Minh City’s most iconic landmarks.

As part of Saigontourist Group, one of Vietnam’s leading hospitality and tourism groups, the five-star heritage hotel overlooks the Saigon River and blends timeless French colonial elegance with renowned Vietnamese hospitality.

As international business travel evolves, sustainable growth depends on more than reputation alone. Hotels must reach the right corporate buyers, maintain pricing discipline and build a balanced mix of demand.

For Hotel Majestic Saigon, strengthening its corporate business required a smarter commercial strategy that could expand its global reach without significantly increasing sales investment.

Working with D-EDGE Hospitality Solutions, the hotel leveraged the Global Distribution System (GDS) to strengthen its presence in the global corporate travel market, improve pricing performance and diversify its revenue mix.

“Our objective was not simply to increase bookings, but to attract higher-value corporate business while making better use of our commercial resources. Working with D-EDGE has enabled us to expand our international reach, strengthen our pricing and create new opportunities for sustainable growth.”

The Challenge: Expanding Corporate Reach Without Expanding Commercial Investment

Like many luxury hotels, Hotel Majestic Saigon enjoyed healthy leisure demand but recognised the importance of broadening its business mix beyond its existing channels. Strengthening its corporate segment presented an opportunity to diversify demand, improve pricing and build greater long-term resilience.

Growing international corporate business has traditionally relied on overseas sales missions, trade events and relationships with Travel Management Companies (TMCs), all of which require considerable investment in time and resources.

The hotel’s key commercial challenges included:

Resource-Intensive International Sales: Expanding into global markets through traditional sales activities required significant investment, making it difficult to scale international business development efficiently.

Yield Erosion: Declining corporate rates highlighted the need for a distribution strategy that could protect pricing while attracting higher-value corporate business.

Diversifying the Business Mix: Maintaining strong leisure demand while steadily increasing premium corporate bookings to create a healthier and more resilient revenue portfolio.

The hotel needed a scalable distribution strategy that could extend its international reach while making better use of existing commercial resources.

The Solution: Connecting Hotel Majestic Saigon to Global Corporate Demand Through D-EDGE GDS Solution.

Working with D-EDGE Hospitality Solutions, Hotel Majestic Saigon connected directly to all major Global Distribution Systems (GDS) expanding its commercial reach beyond its physical sales presence and providing greater access to international corporate demand.

Expanding Global Reach: The hotel gained access to more than 50,000 Travel Management Companies (TMCs) worldwide, increasing its visibility among corporate travel buyers and international business travellers without expanding its overseas sales activities.

Protecting Rate Integrity: By implementing dynamic corporate rates and participating in selected consortia programmes, the hotel strengthened its ability to compete for higher-value corporate business while maintaining pricing discipline.

Driving Demand During Low Seasons: Targeted flash campaigns during traditionally quieter periods stimulated qualified demand without relying on broad discounting, helping transform lower-demand periods into stronger revenue opportunities.

Together, these initiatives created a more balanced commercial strategy, combining wider market reach, healthier pricing and greater year-round resilience.

Commercial Impact Beyond Revenue: Expanded Access to Global Corporate Buyers

Greater visibility among international corporate buyers created new business opportunities that would have been significantly more resource-intensive to develop through traditional overseas sales activities alone.

Stronger Revenue Quality: Guests booked through GDS stayed 50% longer on average and generated a booking value 47% higher than B2C online bookings. These results reflect the hotel’s success in attracting higher-value corporate demand while supporting a healthier and more balanced revenue mix.

Better Use of Commercial Resources: By extending its international reach through connected distribution, the commercial team was able to focus more of its time on developing high-value corporate relationships rather than expanding overseas sales activities.

One of the greatest advantages has been our ability to reach international corporate buyers without significantly increasing our sales investment. We have strengthened our corporate segment while building a more sustainable commercial foundation for future growth

A Stronger Foundation For Sustainable Corporate Growth

Hotel Majestic Saigon’s experience reflects a broader shift across the hospitality industry. Growing corporate business is no longer determined solely by the size of a hotel’s sales team or travel budget. Success increasingly depends on connecting with the right corporate buyers through the right distribution strategy while maintaining pricing discipline.

For hotels looking to diversify demand and strengthen commercial performance, distribution has evolved beyond connectivity to become a strategic driver of market reach, revenue quality and long-term profitability.

By leveraging D-EDGE’s Global Distribution System, Hotel Majestic Saigon expanded its access to international business while making better use of its existing commercial resources.

Its experience demonstrates that the greatest value of technology lies not in the platform itself, but in its ability to extend a hotel’s reach, strengthen commercial performance and allow hotel teams to focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
