Balancing Peak and Off Season Demand in a Luxury Hotel Group

 

Manniello Hotels is a luxury hotel group in Italy with four high-end properties, including two 5-star hotels and two 4-star Superior hotels.

The Challenge:

As a seasonal luxury hotel group, Manniello Hotels operates within a concentrated trading period, with most properties open from spring to autumn and limited activity during the winter months. This structure creates strong peaks in demand, followed by extended quieter periods.

 

Managing this pattern required a distribution and digital approach capable of responding to high-pressure booking windows while maintaining visibility in key international markets ahead of the season. At the same time, the group wanted to reinforce direct performance across its four properties and ensure consistency in how rates, availability and digital campaigns were managed.

 

With a strong reliance on international leisure travellers, particularly from the UK and the US, maintaining relevance outside the core operating months was essential to secure forward bookings and stabilise performance year after year.
 

The Solution:

To address this seasonality, D-EDGE worked with Manniello Hotels to structure its digital and distribution setup so that the website, booking engine, channel management and media activities operated as one coordinated system.

 

The website and D-EDGE Booking Engine were implemented to provide a consistent and reliable booking experience, supporting direct reservations during periods of high demand. The Channel Manager centralised rate and availability management while enabling the group to distribute rooms efficiently across the channels most used by key markets such as the US and the UK.

 

Digital marketing played a complementary role. Campaigns were planned to capture demand ahead of opening periods and sustain visibility in priority markets during quieter months. 

 

This approach helped smooth performance throughout the year, support direct contribution and reduce pressure during peak trading windows.
